Background

Scope and content:

Consists of one letter to College of William and Mary student Evelyn V. Palmer from her mother, who indicates she will travel to Williamsburg to sell goods in an effort to raise the funds her daughter requested. Mrs. Palmer also shares an update of events at the Palmer home in Suffolk, Virginia.

Biographical / historical:

Palmer was a member of the class of 1920 (according to the 1932 Catalogue of Alumni) and was part of the first class of women to enroll in 1918. She lived on-campus in the Tyler Dormitory, which was designated for women.
