Background

Scope and content:

The collection consists of the removed pages of a scrapbook composed by the Colonial Piecemakers. The pages include digital prints and clippings related to activities of the Guild.

Biographical / historical:

The Colonial Piecemakers Quilt Guild is a local hobby group in Williamsburg, VA that focuses on providing creative guidance for the creation of quilts. The group was founded in the 1970s and maintains subgroups of members, known as "Bees," which work toward certain project goals. The group regularly collaborates with local nonprofit organizations to create sewn materials for those in need. As of 2021, it had a membership of 226 individuals and created an average of 200 quilts per year.

Acquisition information:
Donated by the Colonial Piecemakers Quilt Guild in 2015.

The collection is arranged in the original order of the scrapbook inside a single folder.
