Background

Scope and content:

This collection is an eclectic grouping of maps and government documents transferred from the library's main circulating collection for reasons of historical significance or other considerations. Certain maps of Europe and the graphics concerning the Panama Canal were purchased and incoroporated into the collection, as well. Specific information is listed in the inventory below for individual documents and maps. Many are contemporary imprints.

Processing information:

This collection was processed by Joe Felix and Betty Dickie. In Fall 2024 the materials were encapuslated, moved to flat storage, and the finding aid was updated with improved detail and formatting.

Arrangement:

The collection is grouped according to theme, and each series is organized chronologically. There are 11 series:
