Personal papers of Harry Clemons but containing considerable quantities of official materal.

Contains material relating to Clemons's history of the University of Virginia Library ( The University of Virginia Library, 1825-1950 : story of a Jeffersonian foundation), including typescript versions of footnotes and bibliographical citations.

Collection contains a letter from Pearl Buck to Mrs. Clemons thanking her for congratulations on the Pulitzer Prize and commenting on the reception by reviewers of "The young revolutionist" which was written for young children of 12 to 14 "so that children in the churches might learn something about China without knowing it. to have it taken as a novel seems absurd...."
