[Sends Barrett a copy of his Stephen Crane An Omnibus, says about the book, ..."perhaps my stand is too provocative in the critical notes and not discreet enough where I crack off against this person or another ... I am quite willing to acknowledge any errors in fact but I stick to my critical interpretation of Crane's works and his life in relation to his writings come-hell-or-high-water, as the saying goes," and asks him to inform him of any factual errors.]
