Scope and content:

This addition to the Papers of the American Rhododendron Societyconsists of copies of correspondence between Joseph Gable(1886-1972) and Guy Nearing(1890-? ), 1930-1952, (ca. 400 items, 1 Hollinger box) concerning rhododendrons, a small portion of which was published in Hybrids and Hybridizers.

Also included is a group of rhododendron rating questionnaires sent out in 1964 by P. J. Sholomskasof the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Rhododendron Societyto some of the then best known growers of rhododendrons in the Eastern United States.
