This collection consists of forty-four nineteenth century photographs, the majority in a carte de viste style, of the Southall, Minor, and Venablefamilies of Charlottesville, Virginia, including two Afro-American family servants.

Acquisition information:
These photographs were given to the Library on September 10, 1990, by Mr. Julius Barclay of Charlottesville, Virginia, without restrictions.
