The diaries, 1849-1862, of William M. Blackfordare concerned with life in Lynchburg, Virginia, his career, his family and related Davis familyand Minor family, life at the University of Virginia, and the experiences of his five sons in the Confederate States Army. William M. Blackford(1801-1864) was a editor, postmaster and bank cashier in Lynchburg. Volume 1 of the diaries is located in accession #2221.
