Scope and content:

The T. L. Jones farm journal (1854-1861; 0.05 cubic feet) documents Jones's work operating Pear Point Farm. Topics of the journal's daily entries include weather, expenses, and farm and family events. The journal also includes statistics on "meal used" and baptismal records for Jones's children.

Biographical / historical:

T. L. Jones was born in 1814 and operated Pear Point Farm, which was located near Howardsville in southwest Albemarle County. Jones and his family grew wheat, oats, corn, fodder, apples, and tobacco, and raised hogs and sheep.
