• One folder containing personal handwritten correspondence from 1905-1914 of Charles Alphonso Smith, Special Collaborator on the Bureau of Education, professor at the University of Virginia, and founder of the Virginia Folklore Society. The folder also includes several photocopied documents. • One folder titled "VFS: Raymond Sloan Material" holds documents related to the Virginia-based guitarist Raymond Sloan, including photographs of Sloan and Alice Wagoner ca. 1977 and 1950, assorted periodicals, typed texts, correspondence, and two tapes (filed separately): the first is called "Charlie Poole's Stag Song—Talk by R.H. Sloan - also Old Ferrun String Band — (in 1977)" and includes a handwritten setlist; the second is called "Raymond Sloan 7/7/77, interviewed by Kip Lornell." • Extended correspondence ca. 1970s-1990s (especially written by or addressed to Charles and Nancy Perdue). • Virginia Folklore Society Index to the Archive of Folksong Virginia, compiled by Charles and Nancy Perdue. • Virginia Folklore Society registration flyers and concert flyers. • Advisory Committee materials. • Photocopies of original Virginia Folklore Society bulletins • Material related to A.K.
