The notebooks contains exercises and solutions for simple mathematics concepts, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Towards the end of the notebook, two pages contain longer writings of a religious nature written by Kern. The headings of each page contain many calligraphic flourishes and ornate touches.
