3 World War I diaries, each bound in leather or cloth with gilt decorative stamps and titles on front; 1 Army Song Book; 1 address book; 1 Aviation Pocket-Book by R. Boriase Matthews (1917); 9 other manuscript documents including pages of notes and drawings by Joseph F. Welsh, military form for R&R release, and receipts for paychecks (1920-21).

Biographical / historical:

Joseph F. Welsh was an American Aero Squadron Signal Corps member and aviation mechanic from York, Pennsylvania who served in the 102nd Aero Squadron in World War. (1917-1919)
