This collection contains six black and white photographs of members of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) marching in Richmond, Virginia in 1963. Maria Saporta is identified as the photographer in the photographs.
The SCLC's seventh annual convention occurred from September 24 to September 27 at Virginia Union University in Richmond. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the organization's founding members and acted as president until his 1968 assassination. He spoke on the final night of the conference, in the university's Belgian Building. The photographs are 7 x 9.5 inches each with annotations on the back.
