Steptoe Washington married Lucy Payne, sister of Dolly Payne Madison]--dined with Uncle Charles recently and he is in much better health--refused Mr. and Mrs. [James] Madison's invitation to Philadelphia for fear of angering her dear uncle--thinks Mrs. Madison a charming woman.
