Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of certificates of appointment by United States President McKinley to Minister of Brazil, letters from President McKinley, news of the president's death, and of photos, clippings, and memorabilia related to McKinley.

Biographical / historical:

Charles Page Bryan was an prominent American lawyer and diplomat. He was appointed minister to China by United States President William McKinley in 1897.
