Scope and content:

This collection is a narrative written by John Newton Lyle, who was a member of the Liberty Hall Volunteers and Stonewall Jackson Brigade during the American Civil War. Includes 'Sketches found in a Confederate veterans's desk' (1913) and an undated supplement 'Stonewall Jackson's Guard'.

John Newton Lyle was a member of the Washington College, Class of 1861, and a member of the Liberty Hall Volunteers.
