Gilliam, who was a member of the Washington and Lee class of 1917, 1912-1926. Campbell and Gilliam correspond about several members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity being unable to return for the next semester due to grades. They contain some original poetry written by Dr. Flournoy. They were all good friends, and Dr. Flournoy use to visit the Reed family in the Summer, while he was vacationing in the Tidewater area.
