Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of one original letter to Alexander Cockrell, a student at Washington and Lee University, from Miss Sallie Bullington, a family friend; one photocopy of a letter dated Oct. 24, 1874, from Frank Cockrell, a student at Washington and Lee, to his brother Alexander, a graduate of Washington and Lee; and a photocopy of a letter dated Dec. 25, 1875, from Frank Cockrell to his mother.

Biographical / historical:

Frank Cockrell and Alexander Cockrell were both students at Washington and Lee University.
