Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of two files of personal correspondence, report cards, and miscellaneous records associated with Robert A. Lewis, VMI Class of 1942. The records span between 1938 to 1944.

A bulk of the correspondence consists of letters from Lewis to his parents during his time at VMI.

Biographical / historical:

Robert A. Lewis (1920-1944) graduated from VMI in 1942 and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was killed in action in Germany on September 20, 1944.

Physical description:
The records are in fair condition. Some letters have creases due to being placed inside envelopes for mailing.
