- Biographical / historical:

John Cheves Haskell was born in 1900 in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from VMI in 1920 and became a businessman in Richmond Virginia. During World War I, Haskell was in the Students' Army Training Corps (SATC). During World War II he saw stateside service. He died in 1957.
