Background

Scope and content:

Thia collection consists of slides, photographs, printed material, leaflets and propaganda material, and documents that date from Gates T. Richards' service in a Psychological Operations unit during the Vietnam War, 1966-1967. An inventory listing details about individual photographs and slides is available upon request.

Biographical / historical:

Gates T. Richards graduated from VMI in 1961 and subsequently attended law school. He served as an United States Army officer from August 1965 to October 1967, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam with with 245th Psychological Operations Company.
