Background

Scope and content:

This collection (three items) consists of the VMI account book (1910-1914) of Cadet William H. Tardy, a signed loan agreement (September 1913) between Tardy and VMI, and his writing exercise book.

Biographical / historical:

Thomas Howard Tardy was born in 1889 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He graduated from VMI in 1914. He was a World War I veteran and electrical engineer. Tardy died in 1960 in Lexington, Virginia.
