Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of one VMI scrapbook compiled by George D. Hanger during his cadetship (1924-1928). The scrapbook includes photographs, programs, and other VMI mementos.

Biographical / historical:

George DeLancey Hanger was born in 1907 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He graduated from VMI in 1928. He was a World War II veteran and businessman. Hanger died in 1992 in Norfolk, Virginia.
