The Thornton Terry collection consists of a four page handwritten and illustrated VMI cadet newspaper called "The Sunday Pie." This edition was published on April 18, 1887 by the occupants of Barracks Room 32. Terry was one of the editors.
- Biographical / historical:

Thornton Terry was born in 1868 in Henry County, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1887 and went on to become an educator and the Commandant of Staunton Military Academy (Virginia). He died in 1894.
