This collection consists of one letter (dated January 8, 1882) from Woodville G. Staubly to a Mr. Beckwith. The letter was written from Fort Grant, Arizona Territory. Staubly discusses the Native Americans condemned to death for a massacre at Fort Apache, and other aspects of United States government Native American policy.

Woodville Godfrey Staubly was born in 1856 in Petersburg, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1877 and went on to become a pharmacist. Staubly died sometime before 1903.
