Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of one VMI scrapbook compiled by Hugh B. Rice. The scrapbook contains photographs, programs, playbills, and other VMI memorabilia.

Biographical / historical:

Hugh Banker Rice was born in 1900 in Lexington, Virginia. He graduated VMI in 1923. From 1941 to 1946 he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. He was also the City Manager of Williamsburg, Virginia. Rice died in 1977 in Williamsburg.
