Scope and content:

This collection consists of one watercolor drawing of the Washington Arch facade of barracks by Cadet Thomas W. Keitt, dated May 15, 1876. Details include the clock and the Virginia and United States flags flying from towers.

Biographical / historical:

Thomas Wadlington Keitt was born on January 11, 1859 in South Carolina. He graduated VMI in 1878 and went on to become a plantation owner and teacher. He died on August 31, 1917.
