Background

Scope and content:

The Robert G. Tanner papers consist of items relating to the publication of Tanner's 1976 book, "Stonewall in the Valley" (Doubleday, 1976). The papers include drafts, revisions, typescripts, galley and page proofs, and correspondence with the publisher. Also included is a chapter typescript for "The Guns of '62."

Biographical / historical:

Robert G. Tanner was born in 1947 and graduated VMI in 1969. He went on to become an attorney and author.
