One bound ledger documenting the business activities of farmer John Henry Brubaker who was based out of Springfield in Page County, Virginia. The ledger includes a partial alphabetical index of customer names followed by pages of individual accounts (credits and debits) including descriptions of goods purchased (e.g. salt, flour, corn, butter, wheat, rye, pudding, molasses, bacon, etc.) as well as work performed by individuals (e.g. 1 days work). Surnames present in the ledger include Keyser, Thomas, Cave, Bennett, Koontz, Ashby, Grove, Presgraves, Courtney, and more. The inside front cover is signed "John H. Brubaker."
