Background
- Scope and content:
-
One typed letter dated 1910 April 15 regarding a recent sickness with Walter M. Ebel's wife which prevented Ebel from sending A. E. Kelly, located at the McCreery Hotel in Hinton, West Virginia, $15 towards a watch, chain, and locket. Context clues within the letter (mention of contracts, canceling engagements, opening at the theatre) suggest that Ebel is part of an entertainment group that is performing at Harrisonburg's Palace Theatre. The letter is written on Harrisonburg Daily Times letterhead but Ebel requests further correspondence be addressed to him in care of the Palace Theatre.
