The collection is comprised of four reports documenting the forest composition and condition of certain portions of federally owned lands in northern Rockingham and Page counties; and in western Frederick and western Shenandoah counties in Virginia and southeastern Hampshire and eastern Hardy counties, West Virginia. Details about local markets for forest products; local history of tanbark, iron, and other industries; and local fire history are also given. Titles include:
- Report on the technical examination of the lands of the Allegheny Ore and Iron Co., Rockingham and Page Counties, VA, 1912 (a copy of the original and a transcript of the poorly typed original are included)
- Revision of Lost River Working Circle, Shenandoah National Forest, 1924
