The scrapbooks document the club's activities and each scrapbook covers one year beginning with the founding of the Garden Club in 1970. Also in the collection is the Garden Club's application to the National Capital Area Federation of Garden Clubs in 1980. The collection is dated from 1970 to 2009 and is contained in 17 boxes.
The only series in this collection is titled scrapbooks. The entire series consists of scrapbooks from the Reston Garden Club. Included in the scrapbooks are photographs, newsclippings, programs and other items from a particular year in the Reston Garden Club's history.

The Reston Garden Club was founded in 1970. The club's goal is to promote home gardening, flower arranging, community beautifications and other horticultural activities in Reston. The club meets on the first Tuesday of the month between the months of September and June, taking the summer off. The club is also involved in many community programs including "Adopt-A-Highway" and co-sponsoring the Reston Garden Tours as well as fundraising projects in Reston.
