- Biographical / historical:

The Prince Edward Warehouse Company was incorporated in Farmville, Virginia in 1927. According to their charter, the company was formed with the purpose of dealing in real estate, warehousing goods and crops, and storing, selling, and distributing goods on commission. While the majority of their business was dedicated to the storage of, as well as, buying and selling of bright tobacco, they also provided warehouse space for the Virginia Dark-Fired Tobacco Growers Association, and storage space for Newman Chevrolet. The organization was eventually dissolved in 1942 and the property was purchased by Newman Chevrolet.
