Scope and content:

This collection, which dates from 1947 and 1959, consists of a commencement program from 1947 and a newspaper clipping re: Longwood's 75th Anniversary.

Biographical / historical:

Grace Bonney Shriver of Norfolk, Virginia was born in 1925 to Edwin Causey and Grace Bonney Shriver. In 1943, Shriver enrolled as a student at State Teachers College in Farmville, Virginia, graduating with a degree in home economics in 1947. While a student at State Teachers College, Shriver was a member of Phi Zeta Sigma.

Custodial history:

The items in this collection, which belonged to Grace Shriver Wiggins, were later acquired by Nancy Shelton, during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when the collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
