The items in this collection, which date from 1917 to 1918, consist of a YWCA Handbook and a Junior Class Songbook, issued to Mary Dudley Williams when she was a student at State Normal School for Women.
- Biographical / historical:

Mary Dudley Williams of Iraville, Virginia was born in 1900 to Henry Benjamin and Mattie Brown Williams. In 1917, Williams enrolled as a student at State Normal School for Women in Farmville, Virginia and earned her diploma in 1919. While a student at State Normal School for Women, she was a member of the YWCA, the Athenian Literary Society, and the Ruffner Debating Society.

The items in this collection, which belonged to Mary Dudley Williams when she was a student at State Normal School for Women, were acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when the collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library.
