The memory book in this collection, which dates to 1925, contains inscriptions written by Margaret Jones Watkins' classmates at the State Teachers College summer school.

Biographical / historical:

Margaret Jones Watkins of Blackstone, Virginia was born in 1904 to Bennie L. and Eleanor G. Watkins. From 1923 to 1925, Watkins attended summer classes at State Teachers College in Farmville, Virginia.

Custodial history:

This memory book, which belonged to Margaret Watkins, was later acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when the collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
