This collection, which dates from 1923 to 1925, consists of ephemeral materials accumulated by Sue Roper during her time as a student at State Normal School for Women and State Teachers College.
- Biographical / historical:

Sue Eleanor Roper of Portsmouth, Virginia was born in 1905 to Thomas Davis and Susan Rutter Roper. In 1923, she enrolled in State Normal School for Women in Farmville, Virginia, and earned her degree from State Teachers College in 1925. While a student at State Normal School for Women and State Teachers College, Roper was a member of Portsmouth Club, the Athenian Literary Society, and the Athletic Association. Additionally she served as YWCA Publicity Committee Chair, Freshman Class Treasurer, and on the Student Government Committee.

The items in this collection, which were accumulated by Sue Roper during her time as a student at State Normal School for Women and State Teachers College, were later acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when the collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
