This songbook, which dates from 1923, contains school and class songs for the State Normal School for Women Junior class.
- Biographical / historical:

Elizabeth Odell Paylor of Wakefield, Virginia, was born in 1905 to Hugh and Anna Odell Paylor. In 1922, she enrolled in State Normal School for Women in Farmville, Virginia, and earned her diploma in June 1924. While a student at State Normal School for Women, Paylor was a member of the Athenian Literary Society, Kindergarten Club, Southampton Club, Easter Shore Club, Dramatic Club, and Pi Kappa Omega. Additionally, she served as Vice President and Membership Chair of YWCA.

The songbook in this collection, which belonged to Elizabeth Odell Paylor while she was a student State Normal School for Women, was acquired by Nancy Shelton during her tenure with the Longwood University Department of Alumni Relations. It is unknown when this collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
