This collection includes mostly photographs of the dinning hall and dinning hall staff from the 1960s.
- Biographical / historical:

During the 1960s Longwood's dining hall was operated by Slater Food Services, and the dining hall was located in what is now Blackwell. Dining hall staff were predomintly African American, preparing students three meals a day, as well as preparing food for other special events at Longwood and for the community. Meals at Longwood were also served family style, and Longwood students were hired as waitresses to serve tables.

Thie collection was oringally named the Mary Tolley collection, but because there is no formal record of the accessioning of these photographs and becuase research did not provide any connection between Mary Tolley and the dining hall the title of the collection was changed to reflect the subject of the collection.
