Scope and content:

The ledger in this collection, which dates from 1958 to 1962, contains the class roll and meeting minutes of the Longwood College Class of 1962. The proceedings in this volume were recorded by the following elected secretaries of the class: Judy Smith (1958-1959), Nancy Pretty (1959-1960), Diana Snow (1960-1961), and Susan Crisman (1961-1962).

Biographical / historical:

The Longwood College Class of 1962 began as freshmen in fall 1958. As required by the school, each year the class elected officers to represent them. Additionally, the class was required to meet at regular intervals throughout the year. Among the duties of the elected class secretary, which included taking care of class correspondence and the maintenance of a class scrapbook, were mandatory attendance at class meetings, keeping accurate records of those proceedings, and the maintenance of a class roll.

Custodial history:

This volume originated with the elected secretaries of the Longwood College Class of 1962. It is unknown when this collection was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives.
