This scrapbook, compiled in 1937, contains 154 notes and letters written to Martha Willis Coulling on the occasion of her 50th anniversary of teaching at State Teachers College.
- Biographical / historical:

Martha Willis Coulling was born in 1866 in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from State Female Normal School in Nashville, Tennessee (now Peabody College) in 1886. In 1887, Coulling accepted a teaching position at State Female Normal School in Farmville, Virginia where she taught drawing and Latin until her retirement in 1942.
