Scope and content:

This scrapbook dates from 1921-1924 and includes photographs, ephemera, and notes from Eva Lucille Palmer's time at the State Teachers College.

Biographical / historical:

Eva Lucille Palmer was born in 1904 in Richmond, Virginia. She attended [then] State Female Normal School/State Teachers College from 1921-1924. During her time at the school she was involved in the Traveler's Club and the Athenian Literary Society. After graduation, Palmer became a teacher in the Richmond public schools.

Custodial history:

This scrapbook, originally organized by Eva Lucille Palmer, was donated to the Longwood University Alumni Affairs Office by Brandy Blanco of Powhatan, Virginia, in 2002. The item was transferred to the Greenwood Library Archives by Nancy Shelton, Director of Alumni Affairs, in winter 2002.

Physical / technical requirements:

The cover and spine of the scrapbook are completely separated from the pages

Many of the pages of the scrapbook have considerable water damage near the spine margin
