This collection of black & white photographs dates from the early 1920s and consists of images of Longwood campus, Farmville, and Prince Edward County, including several rural schools in the county.
- Biographical / historical:

Pauline Camper was born in 1881 in Salem, Virginia. She graduated from [then] State Female Normal School in June 1901. While at the school she served on the Board of Editors for the Virginian (yearbook) and was a member of the basketball team and the Skaters Club. From 1921 to 1923 she served as Supervisor of Rural Education in Prince Edward County. In 1925 Camper earned a B.S. from the Teacher's College in New York. From 1927 to 1928 returned to [by then] State Teachers College in Farmville as an associate professor in the Department of Education.
