Over the last seventy years, they have landscaped and planted trees around the Springfield community including parks, health complexes, shopping centers, subdivisions and along roadways. They have a longstanding relationship with maintaining the landscaping of Richard Byrd Library and Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield. The club has sponsored lectures, workshops, and classes on gardening and horticulture and written gardening articles for local newspapers. They have also hosted plant sales, annual flower and garden shows, Christmas bazaars, and other fundraising and social events. The club has won multiple awards and ribbons for participation in the National Capital Garden League Shows and other contests.
