The Lucie M. Wiltshire Scrapbooks consist of .25 linear feet comprising of two 3-ring notebooks (5” x 7” tooled leather covers) assembled by Lucie M. Wiltshire. The notebooks document Miss Wiltshire’s family history and European travels. Also included are her birth certificate, obituary and several unidentified photographs. Identified photographs include portraits of Lucie Moore Wiltshire, Menissa Moore Wiltshire, John Goodwin Wiltshire, family homes in Front Royal, Virginia, as well as photographs of Moorefield in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Lucie Moore Wiltshire was born on September 11, 1891 in Front Royal, Virginia to John Goodwin Wiltshire and Menissa Moore Wiltshire. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Rev. Jeremiah Moore of Fairfax County, Virginia. Her family moved to Washington D.C. when she was three years old and later graduated from Central High School. In 1917, she began a lengthy career with the Conservation Division of the Geological Survey and retired in 1960, receiving an Interior Department Commendable Service Award. She died in Washington D.C. on February 2, 1962.
