The scrapbooks contain various clippings from Charlottesville newspapers.

Book 1 (1947-1968): Greeting cards, Washington Park flower show, 1951.

Book 2 (1944-1961): Newspaper clippings of people and events in Charlottesville's Black community. Includes some obituaries.

Book 3: Charlottesville Personalities clippings.

Book 4: Magazine clippings featuring Black entertainers from the 1940s-1960s.

Biographical / historical:

Virginia Henderson was born November 10, 1898. She married Moses Maupin in 1926. They lived on Henry St. in Charlottesville. Virginia Maupin was a member of the Washington Park Garden Club and the Dunbar club, a music appreciation club in Charlottesville. Maupin died on December 14, 1986 and was buried in Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery in Albemarle County.
