Background
- Scope and content:
-
This important collection of reports from the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority contains appraisal reports for the Vinegar Hill Project, Cox Row Project, Garrett Street Project and other adjacent areas. All these appraisals were done by independent appraisers, for the CRHA. The files contain an immense amount of information on the properties: project maps, summation of project values, area facilities, data on locality, conditions on the properties, real state tax rates, comparative sales, lot descriptions, owner and rental information, certifications, individual parcel appraisals and photographs. The collection does not have documents that explain how these appraisers were chosen.
In addition to this collection ACHS has a Petition containing 1367 signatures to the city council of Charlottesville requesting a referendum on the application of the redevelopment of the Ridge Street-Raymond Road Area Site of September 1966. See: MS 341.
