The papers consist of correspondence and receipts. Included is a contract from H.C. Michie for "Meadow Brook," 21 May 1877.

Biographical / historical:

This collection chiefly concerns the Barksdale and Fry families of Albemarle County, Virginia.

Henry Fry (1738-1823) was the son of Col. Joshua Fry, who, along with Peter Jefferson, mapped Virginia. Henry Fry married Susan Walker. Their son, also Henry Fry (1773-1815) married Mildred Maury. The Frys intermarried with the Barksdale family.

3 folders. The primary folder is family correspondence and receipts. Folder A is a photocopy of the Fry family bible. Folder B is a photocopy of the Barksdale family bible. Both bibles were deposited at the Library of Virginia.
