Biographical / historical:

Old Charlottesville, Inc. was created in 1979 as a non-profit educational organization formed to identify historic and architecturally significant structures in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia, with particular emphasis on the central section of Charlottesville (4th Street area). Among its goals were the publication and preservation of writings, blueprints, and maps about local architecture; and the purchase, restoration, and maintenance of historic homes and buildings in the area.
