This collection includes business records, correspondence, publications, promotional materials, photographs, and artifacts documenting the academic and journalistic career of Christina B. Farnsworth.

Biographical / historical:

Christina B. Farnsworth is an award-winning writer, editor, and pioneer in the field of architecture, building construction, and design trade journalism. She graduated from Mundelein College and the University of Chicago. She served as an editor for Professional Builder magazine (as its first woman editor), Luxury Homes, Professional Remodeler, and BUILDER magazine. Her freelance writing credits include Better Homes & Gardens, Home, Real Estate Today, Tucson Guide, Home Energy, and Green Builder Media (among others). As an employee of the U.S. League of Savings Institutions, she comprehensively revised the textbook “Construction: Building, Materials, and Methods” for two consecutive editions. Additional publications include a Housing/Planner Glossary for the U.S. League and the 1993 text “The Home Remodeler” with Stouffer & Smith Architects.
